Goals of the Neurology Program:
- Teach independence and safety with ambulation.
- Increase independence in daily living activities
- Procure appropriate durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment
- Improve specific and general muscle strength and coordination
- Improve range of motion necessary for safe mobility and prevention of contractures
- Educate patients and family on safe transfers, mobility and self care activities
- Educate on community resources for long term rehabilitation planning
- Develop coping skills for patient and family adjustment to the physical limitations and change.
- Maximize quality of life throughout the course of the disease
