Specialized Rehab Services
Patients with special needs can benefit from specialized services from HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospitals of New Jersey at Tinton Falls and Toms River.
Short Stay Orthopedic Unit
Our new Short Stay Orthopedic unit provides inpatient rehab for single-joint replacement patients, such as those who have had knee or hip replacements or laminectomies, who can be discharged in five to seven days. Patients receive skilled services from rehabilitation nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, with daily medical oversight by a physiatrist. The patient's care and discharge planning are coordinated with the individual's orthopedic surgeon. Upon returning home, our patients may continue their care at one of our many outpatient facilities.
Neurologically Impaired Program for Young Adults
To meet the unique needs of neurologically impaired young adults age 18 to 53, we offer an innovative long term care program which delivers skilled medical and nursing care along with supportive therapies and services. The goal is to maximize residents’ physical and emotional capabilities, and to help them achieve maximum levels of independence. Successful re-entry into the community is the ultimate goal.
Home Evaluation Program
If you or a loved one is too weak to leave your home, or has problems with walking, dressing, or bathing, then contact our Home Evaluation Program. A rehabilitation liaison will provide a free in-home medical consultation and direct you to the appropriate rehabilitation services. Call the hospital nearest you for more information.
